I offer a warm, professional and caring childcare environment. I am dedicated to help children learn through play.

Safety

As a registered childminder my house has passed strict safety standards and I will adhere to these standards ensuring a safe and secure environment for your child, both inside and outside.

Please find some of these standards listed below:

All electrical sockets that are not in use are fitted with covers
A stair gate is fitted
All radiators that are not covered are operated at a safe heat
I have a carbon monoxide detector in place
My boiler is serviced annually
I have smoke alarms, fire blanket and fire extinguisher
Kitchen and bathroom cupboard/drawer locks – all dangerous liquid/objects are locked away
Enclosed garden, fitted with a locked gate to use in emergencies
All sleeping children are regularly checked and I also use a baby monitor
On outings I will use the appropriate safety harnesses on buggies and safety restraints for older walkers as requested by parents
All equipment and toys are regularly checked to ensure they are clean and safe to play with. All children are only allowed access to toys/activities that are suitable for their age or development.

Hygiene

I will encourage children to learn about personal hygiene through a daily routine starting from washing hands to brushing teeth etc. Each child has their own flannel and hand towel which is washed regularly.

We always wash our hands before eating, after using the bathroom, after playing outside and after messy play.

No smoking is permitted in my house.

This is a pet free environment.

My kitchen and bathroom are kept spotless and I always use an antibacterial cleaner to kill bacteria.

I comply with strict food hygiene guidelines when storing and preparing food. I have a separate chopping board for meat and vegetables.

I have a thermometer to check that my fridge is kept at the recommended temperature which is -50c and my freezer is at -180c.

I have a steam cleaner which I use to clean the tiles, curtains, upholstery and carpets. This is in order to kill dust mites and eliminate allergies.

Every child that has a nap is issued with their own portable bed and bed lining that is regularly washed.
