Meals and Nutrition

I am happy to provide meals for the children in my care all costs are included in the fee. Alternatively parents may choose to supply a packed lunch for their child.

I am happy to accommodate any dietary requests and would ask that you advise me of your requirements.

We all sit down together at the table to eat. All children are encouraged to eat and drink independently from an early age. Booster seats/highchair and appropriate cutlery are supplied for younger children.

Most meals are home made. Menu choices will be discussed with the children and they will be encouraged to try new things, but they will never be forced to eat something they don’t like.

My menu includes recipes from all other the world this helps the children to learn about other people’s countries and cultures.

The children are encouraged to assist in food preparation when appropriate. We often make healthy fresh fruit smoothies, fruit jellies, biscuits and cakes.

I ask that parents supply all formula/expressed milk and bottles for younger babies. I am happy to supply homemade pureed meals for a weaning baby, but appreciate that most parents prefer to supply their own food.

Please see below for an example of the type of food and drink that I offer.

A menu plan will be arranged each week and given to each parent so that they are aware of what the children will be eating. I also have a folder that holds all my recipes; this folder is available for parents to view on request.
